Ex-situ conservation is one of the effective tools for conserving various types of macro fungi, including medicinal mushrooms. Nowadays, deep freezing, cryopreservation, mineral oil layer, drying on filter paper, and sterile distilled water culture are the methods of ex-situ conservation for different medicinal mushrooms. Among them, sterile distilled water culture is easy, economical, and more suitable for all types of medicinal mushrooms.

Ex-situ conservation is one of the effective tools for conserving various types of macro fungi, including medicinal mushrooms.
