Study of the Anti-inflammatory Potential of Mushrooms
摘要
Pathologies associated with chronic inflammatory processes are currently a public health problem. The dysregulation of the immune system can produce certain pathologies that end up causing diseases such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and Crohn’s disease, among others. There are methods to control and alleviate this symptomatology associated with poor regulation of the inflammatory response, ranging from synthetic drugs and medicines to bioactive compounds of natural origin. Since ancient times, fungi have aroused great interest in traditional medicine. The great potential of mushrooms to treat various foods, such as different types of infections, anxiety, hypertension, or depression, is well known. All this therapeutic potential lies mainly in the amount of bioactive molecules present in mushrooms, which makes them a very important source of pharmacological resources. For these reasons, it is of particular interest to study how the different compounds can have an effect on the control of the inflammatory response produced by the immune system.
