Development of Fungal Resistant Transgenic Plants Using RNAi Approach in Apple
摘要
Fungal pathogens threaten apple (Malus X domestica) production, causing economic losses and reduced fruit quality. Excessive fungicide use has led to resistant fungal strains, environmental pollution, health risks, biodiversity loss, and soil degradation emphasizing the need for sustainable pest management practices. The protocol mentioned here outlines RNA interference (RNAi) via Agrobacterium-mediated gene transfer to induce host-induced gene silencing (HIGS) in apple plants, boosting fungal resistance.
