Functional genomics in rice has progressed significantly due to the availability of high-quality, well-annotated genome data and the characterization of numerous genes through genetic manipulation. Over the years, various protocols for genetic transformation in rice have been developed and refined. However, different rice cultivars respond differently to these protocols, there remains potential for further improvement and optimization. In this chapter, we have provided an efficient transformation protocol with critical points for the transformation of indica rice with rice immature embryos.
