The increasing generation of fruit and vegetable processing waste biomass presents a significant environmental challenge. However, this biomass can be effectively utilized for the production of biochar and activated carbon. This chapter investigates the conversion of fruit and vegetable processing wastes into biochar and activated carbon through different thermochemical processes such as pyrolysis, torrefaction, and gasification, and also evaluates their efficiency in removing dyes from various types of polluted biomass. Key factors such as activation methods, temperature, and adsorbent dosage were optimized to enhance dye removal efficiency.
