NaviGO: An Interactive Tool for Gene Ontology Functional Analysis with Free Text GO Summaries
摘要
Gene Ontology (GO) is a controlled vocabulary of gene functions that is widely used for the functional analysis of individual genes and large-scale proteomic studies. The NaviGO web server visualizes and quantifies the relationships and similarities among GO annotations. NaviGO has four main functionalities: GO Parent, GO Set, GO Enrichment, and Protein Set. These functionalities collectively help researchers understand the relationships between GO terms, including the similarities among GO terms, GO functional enrichment, and the similarities among proteins based on GO association scores. In this latest version of NaviGO, we introduce a new functionality called GO Summary, based on our GO2Sum method. GO Summary generates a human-readable free-text summary from a list of GO terms, explaining the protein’s function, subunit structure, and pathway.
