Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy and Its Application of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury

The high incidence of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and associated post-concussion symptoms, such as headache and cognitive deficits, have garnered significant attention from researchers worldwide. They are consistently searching for concrete evidence that can promptly indicate the involvement of nervous system. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), a noninvasive technique derived from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), provides the capability to investigate brain metabolites as biomarkers of pathophysiological changes in vivo following mTBI. In this chapter, we begin by providing a brief overview of the background of mTBI. Subsequently, we delve into the detailed processes involved in MRS data, ranging from data collection to result presentation.
