Working on semen of avian species demands expert handling due to avian sperm’s unique morphology and physiology in terms of in vitro semen exploitation. Semen extraction protocols elicit different responses by different bird species. Here, we describe the responses of different avian species to different semen extraction methods performed with a slight modification of the cloacal massage technique along with routine semen analysis in regard to precautions taken during processing that would help in improving avian semen assessment.
