The CTAB method is widely used for separating nucleic acids from plant material. However, this method necessitates customization to certain plant species and tissues. The modified CTAB approach applies to a wide variety of woody and herbaceous plants, but this approach includes higher concentrations of β-mercaptoethanol. This technique produced high-quality RNA with low degradation. The extracted RNA is useful for further transcriptional analysis, such as RT-qPCR. The modified CTAB method presented here is a reliable and effective method for isolating RNA from woody plants, enabling molecular genetic research of these economically important species.
