Personality Disorders
摘要
Personality disorders include ten disorders that influence an individual’s cognition, affect, behavior, and interpersonal relationships. These disorders impact approximately 10% of community samples, with higher estimates found in clinical and forensic populations. The current chapter provides an overview of issues relevant to interviewing individuals with personality pathology. We begin by discussing categorical and dimensional classification systems of personality pathology, followed by an outline of assessment measures, relevant sources of information, cultural and contextual factors that might influence symptom presentation, and information critical to providing these diagnoses. Finally, we provide a case illustration and tips for working with clients with personality pathology.
