This chapter presents some models characterised by the appearance of patterns related to the onset of a Turing instability driven by growth activators and growth inhibitors. Such patterns can generate non-homogeneous growth so that even starting from a perfectly symmetric multicellular spheroid, growth is no longer spherically symmetric.

摘要

This chapter presents some models characterised by the appearance of patterns related to the onset of a Turing instability driven by growth activators and growth inhibitors. Such patterns can generate non-homogeneous growth so that even starting from a perfectly symmetric multicellular spheroid, growth is no longer spherically symmetric.
