Their presence in the aquatic environment is of international concern due to their toxicity, hydrophobic properties, bioaccumulation, continuing inputs, and tenacity. The review provided insight regarding the presence of PAHs in the aquatic environment and possible scenarios based on ecotoxicological and risk assessment.
