Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a malignancy that originates from the nasopharynx epithelium. Radiation therapy (RT) is the mainstay treatment for NPC due to the tumor’s high radiosensitivity and its complex anatomical location, which limits the effectiveness of surgical interventions. For patients with early-stage disease, radiation therapy alone often results in excellent local control, with rates exceeding 90% (Amin et al. 2017). In more advanced stages, radiation therapy in combination with chemotherapy leads to a significant improvement in both local control and overall survival.
