This chapter reviews the imaging of diseases that present with movement disorders in geriatric patients. Although these diseases have various classifications and mechanisms, imaging plays a critical role in clinical practice. In addition to morphological imaging, functional imaging techniques, such as magnetic resonance spectroscopy, diffusion tensor imaging, and quantitative susceptibility mapping, play increasingly important roles in the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. In addition to imaging, evaluation and genetic information regarding abnormal proteins are important for understanding disease classification and diagnosis. This chapter discusses the clinical, pathological, and genetic findings of the diseases, presents the imaging findings, and the latter part of the chapter discusses magnetic resonance imaging techniques for further evaluation of the diseases, with emphasis on geriatric patients.
