The Thoracic Aorta
摘要
The thoracic aorta originates from the left ventricle, from which pulsation waves are propagated, presents an elaborate 3D structure at the level of the sinus of Valsalva, curves defining an arch that gives origin to the arteries vascularizing the head and upper limbs and then descends toward the diaphragm (Fig. 1). Its function and specific anatomy make of it a complex organ and deeply influence imaging methods trying to depict it, in regard of both acquisition and analysis.
