Medical staffs who are in charge of treatment and care of patients with neurological cancers, such as neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuroradiologists, neuro-oncologists, neuropathologist, radiation oncologists, and medical oncologists, must have a thorough understanding of the neurologic manifestation and care of central nervous system (CNS) cancers in order to practice efficiently. Surgical intervention, radiation therapy (RT), and medicinal treatment with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and/or targeted therapy are the cornerstones of treatment for most nervous system malignancies. In neuro-oncology, interdisciplinary collaboration is essential. Despite the implementation of novel medical therapy, the prognosis for many CNS cancers, such as gliomas and brain metastases, is generally dismal. Patients must be enrolled in clinical trials to evaluate the safety and efficiency of novel therapeutics paradigms. Tumor boards allow for continuous interaction and the creation of coordinated treatment strategies. Gliomas, meningiomas, primary CNS lymphoma, and CNS metastases are common CNS cancers that are treated with a mix of systemic therapeutic approaches, such as chemotherapy and targeted therapies, as well as surgery and RT.
