Detection of a Systematic Parallax Effect in VLBI Observations
摘要
We processed a set of geodetic VLBI data from 1993 until 2025 to assess the annual parallax effect in two ways – as a global parameter, and with daily position time series. The estimate of the parallax effect as a global parameter was found to be a negative value of \(-12.8 \pm 0.5~\mu \) as. The individual ”parallaxes” of radio sources vary approximately from \(+20~\mu \) as to \(-70~\mu \) as. In addition, as a manifestation of parallax effect, daily time series of individual radio source astrometric coordinates reveal a strong annual signal, and the cross-spectrum analysis shows a good correlation between the right ascension and declination components. Possible theoretical interpretations of the result are discussed.
