Abstract <p>Based on analysis of experimental and theoretical microindentation curves, an analytical and experimental method for assessment of the adhesive strength of thin stressed coatings is developed. The novelty of the method lies in the exclusion of the influence of residual stresses on the deformation and interfacial delamination of the coating during indentation.</p>
