Extending the Life of the Cylinder–Piston Group in Diesel Engines
摘要
Abstract
An approach is proposed for selecting the best material and surface hardening of bushes (boriding) and pistons and piston rings (carbonitriding) for a high-speed diesel engine so as to extend the working life by increasing the wear resistance of the frictional pair and creating compressive surface stress on the basis of specific surface structure. The machining conditions and physical properties of the hardened diffusional layers are noted.
