Assessing the Reliability of Systems Described by the Load–Strength Model

Abstract
Assessment of the reliability of systems described by the load–strength model on the basis of incomplete information is considered. The probability of fault-free operation of the system is determined by the probability that the random quantity characterizing the load on the system is less than the random quantity characterizing the strength of the system in the given conditions. The probability of fault-free operation of the system may be expressed as the guaranteed range of probabilities in which the ratio of the random quantity characterizing the load to the random quantity characterizing the corresponding strength of the system is less than one for a set of distributions with specified moments.
