System for Determining the Wetting of Refractory Surfaces by High-Temperature Silicate Melts

Abstract
An experimental system has been developed for estimating the high-temperature wettability of refractory surfaces by means of a test liquid—high-temperature molten silicate slag and glass. The need for such estimates is established. The wetting angle is determined by the sessile drop method. As an example, the wetting angle of the test liquid at solid surfaces is measured over a broad temperature range.
