More Accurate Honing of a Stepped Thin-Walled Cylinder: Fastening with an Elastic Cuff under a Tensile Force

Abstract
The use of an elastic cuff to clamp a stepped thin-walled cylinder in honing is investigated, when tensile force is also applied. With such fastening, the nonuniformity of cylinder deformation is decreased by a factor of 1.2–1.5. As a result, the accuracy of hole machining is increased.
