Abstract <p>The model of an enterprise’s production system is broken down into its constituents so as to isolate individual components and simplify the description of production processes and their interaction. This approach reduces the system to self-sufficient elements. A common element is the automatic section, which contains organizationally related units of equipment. Description of each unit within the section by a specific model fundamentally simplifies the modeling of its operation as an autonomous system or an agent. Thus, in parallel computation, the individual processes are related by production events—for instance, completion of a product batch within the agent. This approach facilitates the development of mathematical models and shortens the wait for modeling results. In combination with inverse modeling, it permits implementation of the just in time principle.</p>
