摘要

Abstract

The paper presents the development history and technical specifications of the MeteoSAR Russian satellite radar. The key advantage of the system is the use of an active phased array antenna. The calibration of the MeteoSAR satellite radar was carried out at natural test sites, including the Lambert Glacier in Antarctica and tropical forests of the Amazon Basin. The paper provides some examples of output data products derived from thematic processing of satellite radar imagery in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
