Abstract <p>When calculating the magnetic circuit of an electric machine using the classical method, design features that lead to the magnetic field’s uneven distribution are not taken into account, which entails incorrect determination of the magnetic field induction’s average value, and, when designing a machine, to the magnetic circuit’s saturation or underutilization of materials. Based on the analytical method and numerical modeling of magnetostatic processes using the finite element method, the calculation method for the magnetic circuit of a dc micromotor with permanent magnets and a hollow armature has been clarified. At the initial design stage, this will help to correctly determine the induction in the magnetic circuit and achieve better motor’s performance.</p>
