Abstract <p>In this paper, distributions of the magnetic field of the magnetic system of the MEPhIST-1 spherical tokamak were calculated and plotted. The proportionality coefficients between the maximum magnetic field induction on the toroidal coil and the transport current, the magnetic field induction at the working point (<i>R</i> = 0.25 m) and the transport current were determined. The dependencies of the critical current of the toroidal coil on the magnetic field for different temperature values were calculated. The operating parameters of the magnetic system, such as the operating temperature of the poloidal and toroidal coils, the transport current, and the number of CORC cables in the toroidal field system of the tokamak, were calculated. The operating temperature at an operating magnetic field of 1 T is 33.6 K for an assembly of 6 CORC cables and 16.6 K for an operating field of 1.5 T.</p>

Abstract
