Estimation of Accidental Coincidences during Registration of Extensive Air Showers by the Horizon-T High-Altitude Installation (Tien Shan)
摘要
Abstract
The Horizon-T installation is deployed at the Tien Shan High-Altitude Scientific Station of the Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences to study the spatiotemporal characteristics of extensive air showers with energies above 3 PeV (a knee in the cosmic ray spectrum). With real parameters for detecting showers, the database can include low-energy showers of high-intensity cosmic rays that accidentally fall into the measurement interval. The paper presents the results of an experimental assessment of the amplitude spectra of the background of random events.
