Abstract <p>This article substantiates the feasibility of using supersonic flame spraying to restore worn gear journals of NSh-U hydraulic gear pumps. Comparative bench wear tests revealed that the wear rate of gear journals coated with supersonic flame spraying of WC–Co–Cr powder materials is 2–3 times lower than that of uncoated serial parts, which were used as the reference standard. The high wear resistance of these coatings is due to the presence of tungsten carbide (WC) in their structure. The use of highly hard coatings on gear journals increases the wear rate of mating components (aluminum bushings). For restoration of worn journals of gears of hydraulic gear pumps, powder material of the Plakart-01.20-N brand is recommended, the use of which allows to increase the relative wear resistance of the journal of the gear by 1.2 times and to ensure the durability of the restored connection of the pump journal of the gear—support sleeve at the level of the serial one.</p>
