Diesel Engine Valve Bevel Reconditioning Technology

Abstract
The results of tests aimed at reconditioning the geometry of the valve bevel of the YAMZ-238 diesel engine are presented. The wear and the existing coating methods are analyzed. Experiments for applying a hardening layer by HFC boronation are conducted. Comparative wear and heat resistance tests are made. It is shown that the reconditioned valve has a heat resistance twice as high as the serial counterpart. The bevel reconditioning technology is developed.
