Abstract

The main types of plastic materials used in car design are considered, their physical and mechanical properties are presented. The effect of hydrogen–oxygen flame on the physical and mechanical properties of plastics after welding (soldering) is analyzed. It is established that when welding plastics at a temperature of 100–300°C, the water formed during combustion is a chemically inert substance. Technological recommendations for gas-flame welding (soldering) of plastic parts during their repair using water electrolytic generators are developed.
