Abstract <p>This article discusses the issue of using the method of assessing the wear resistance of paint and varnish coatings by the ultra-jet discrete diagnostics (UDD) method, based on the interaction of high-speed liquid jets with a movable (rotating) target. The result of the method implementation is an assessment of the residual area of the paint-and-lacquer coating (PLC) on the target sample. Experimental results of studies are presented and their analysis is performed, as a result of which the properties of three-component PLCs are determined, and their comparison with some single-component materials is made. Conclusions are drawn about the increased wear resistance of three-component PLC coatings and it is shown that the distance from the spray gun nozzle to the sample affects the coating’ adhesive strength.</p>
