Hot Gas Extrusion—A New Technology of Metal Pressure Forming and Its Capabilities
摘要
A new technological process of metal pressure forming is hot gas extrusion, based on the fact that a long metal workpiece is deformed by extrusion from a high-pressure vessel with an inert gas through a matrix made of a heat-resistant alloy, with heating of its deforming part to high temperatures. The process has new technological capabilities, such as high degrees of deformation with production of long products of small wire cross-section in one operation; processing in the mode of deformation-thermal strengthening; processing of brittle alloys with high degrees of deformation; production of wire with a complex cross-section in one operation; processing of composite workpieces with a combination of deformation, sintering and synthesis in one operation; the possibility of conducting the process of obtaining wire by extrusion in a continuous mode.
