Abstract <p>Technical solutions for improving the operation of ferroalloy furnaces are considered. A comprehensive analysis of the parameters for smelting ferrosilicon (slag process), carbon ferrochrome and carbon ferromanganese (non-slag process) is carried out. It is shown that an increase in the value of the energy and technological criterion for the operation of a ferroalloy furnace corresponds to savings in specific electricity consumption. For the analysis, it is noted that such a parameter for assessing the operation as the specific productivity of a ferroalloy furnace per 1 MV A of the installed power of transformers is introduced. It is the increase in such a dimensionless value as the energy and technological criterion of a ferroalloy furnace that corresponds to an increase in the specific productivity of the furnace unit.</p>
