Abstract <p>Nowadays, applying organic coatings represents the main method for corrosion protection. High-quality organic coatings, if applied correctly, can decelerate corrosion processes, but over time they are subject to aging that worsens their physical and mechanical properties. This paper is devoted to novel anticorrosion coatings based on polyvinyl alcohol for the conservation. The main stages and results of the development of this coating are presented.</p>
