Development of a Softening Device for Calibrating Cylindrical Blanks by Cyclic Deformation

Abstract
This paper considers the design of a softening device, possible characteristics of softeners and drawing blanks through them, including the simultaneous reduction in the strength characteristics of wire, i.e., its softening. An example of a schematic definition of deformation by bending of a product drawn in a specialized production line is given. A theoretical approach to the so far little-studied softening process is outlined. The issues of the loading sequence of bending (working) and guide (idle) rollers, the need for full or partial rotation of the entire complex or individual groups of rollers relative to the axis of product being drawn are considered.
