Study of the Water Absorption of Bentonites in Dynamics
摘要
Abstract
Bentonite clays are characterized by the ability to absorb a large mass of water, which exceeds the mass of the original dry material by 4–6 times. This is an important property of bentonite as the main binding component in the production of iron ore pellets. In accordance with the accepted methods, the water absorption of bentonite is determined over a long period of time, from 2 to 18 h, while the interaction of concentrate with bentonite in the production cycle lasts from 10 to 50 min. A change in the water absorption capacity of bentonites as a function of time of the interaction of material with water was studied.
