Analysis and Comparison of Technologies for Deposition Anti-Corrosion Coatings to the Cylinder Block Cover

This article considers the issues of studying various methods of deposition anti-corrosion coatings and their impact on the operational efficiency of a marine diesel engine cylinder block cover (CB). It is indicated that the primary cause of failure of these structural elements is their wear as a result of the combined effects of electrochemical corrosion and cavitation. This article lists the main requirements for coating parts of marine diesel engines. The main methods of deposition coatings that can potentially be used to protect the units and parts of CB cover are considered. The advantages and disadvantages of these methods are highlighted. It is concluded that one of the most promising methods is the method of flame spraying of polymeric materials. Analytical and experimental material presented in the article is aimed at specialists involved in the production, operation and repair of marine diesel engines, as well as ensuring their protection from the effects of a combination of unfavorable factors, primarily electrochemical corrosion and cavitation.
