Effect of Filtration Refining on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of the VZh-159 Alloy
摘要
Abstract
It is shown that the melt filtration is an effective way to reduce the amount of non-metallic inclusions in the melt and to improve the mechanical properties in the finished casting. A pilot melt of the VZh-159 alloy was smelted and poured using a double foam ceramic filter. It was found that the application of filtration technology to the VZh-159 alloy allows for cleaning the metal from large oxide non-metallic inclusions and improving the complex of mechanical properties of a workpiece by 4–15%.
