Abstract <p>The Poincaré–Steklov operator for an isotropic stratified elastic strip is considered, mapping normal stresses into normal displacements on a part of the boundary. A new version of the algorithm is proposed for calculating the transfer function of this operator, using the preconditioned conjugate gradient method.</p>
