Homen as Equivalent of Consciousness in Artificial Intelligence Systems. Homeostatic Mentality Theory1
摘要
The conceptual provisions developed by the author are presented, revealing the genesis of material systems as carriers of a special property resembling the mentality observed in wildlife. In the proposed concept, any material objects acquire the properties of subjectivity, which reinforces the ideas of such generally accepted concepts as homeostasis, self-organization, singularity, and others, related to systemic properties. The analysis makes it possible to hypothetically provide a new idea of the properties, implied by the concept of mentality, and integrate them in a form similar to the concept of consciousness. The discovery of these properties is key to understanding the features of artificial intelligence and the problems of its relations with humans and society. The consideration of AI systems from the standpoint of homeostasis-defining mentality allows classifying them as subjects of action or subjects of interaction. This opens up opportunities for transferring the problems of artificial intelligence to interdisciplinary science, namely, combining engineering and psychological aspects into a new field of science known as the engineering psychology of artificial intelligent systems.
