Abstract <p>The relevance and three postulates of the development of a new paradigm of informatics uniting a wide range of the information and computer sciences are described. The first postulate of development introduces the principle of constructing the informatics paradigm, starting from media of different nature of its subject domain to the objects of each medium, the boundaries between media, and further to the names of objects. The second postulate divides all of the basic entities of the subject domain of informatics into two global classes: objects of the subject domain and their mutual transformations both within media and at the boundaries between them. The third postulate defines the structure of the informatics paradigm, using A.&#xa0;Solomoniсk’s approach to the paradigmatic description of any science. The relevance of the construction of a new paradigm arises from the need to develop strategies for information and computer science education (first factor) as well as to establish systems of terms for the creation and development of computerized systems (CSs) (the second factor). The results of the study suggest that the traditional computational-technical paradigm of informatics cannot serve as a theoretical basis for the construction of a term system that is necessary and sufficient for creating modern CSs as well as for the determination of the directions of its development oriented toward designing next-generation CSs with objects of a new nature.</p>
