3D Modeling of the North Chukchi Basin Hydrocarbon Systems
摘要
A 3D modeling of the history of the formation of hydrocarbon systems in the North Chukchi Basin has been performed. A thermal history model has been constructed and calibrated using the data on wells and the probability and scale of hydrocarbon generation have been estimated. Sedimentation modeling data have been applied to estimate the probable reservoir strata. The areas of likely hydrocarbon accumulation in the basin reservoirs have been estimated. Active generation of Aptian–Albian oil and gas source strata started in the Paleocene; Cenomanian–Turonian began in the Eocene; and Eocene oil and gas source strata began at the end of the Oligocene. The locations and preservation of hydrocarbon fields significantly depend on the quality of seals and configuration of clinoform complex bodies.
