A Technique for Interpretative Control of Seismic Data Processing for Improving the Quality of Riverbed Forecasting in Western Siberia
摘要
This article presents the results of reprocessing 3D CDPM (the common depth point method) seismic survey materials that combine data of seismic surveys of four separate license areas in Western Siberia. Using these materials as an example, the importance of interpretative processing control (IPC) for improving the quality of seismic data prepared for subsequent interpretation is shown in detail. The essence of IPC is the permanent monitoring of changes in seismic data quality at each processing stage; communication of IPC team with processing specialists on a regular basis is required to control the quality of performed procedures aimed at increasing the resolution of a seismic image and, hence, improving the traceability of target objects, in particular, channel objects. The quality of traceability of paleochannels in previous and new surveys was compared in the frequency analysis of seismic data, which is based on RGB (red–green–blue) frequency stacking. Re-processing of 2023 survey data provided significant detailing of paleochannel objects in the target region of Tyumen deposits. A specially trained neural network was also used for searching for riverbeds; it has shown how much better or worse riverbed objects are traced when applying a particular processing procedure. The results enable one to make a decision about acceptance or non-acceptance of the results of a particular IPC procedure.
