Luminescent and structural properties in the mixture of ZnO and europium nanostructures
摘要
A mixture of ZnO nanostructures and europium nanostructures was synthesized by the mechanical milling method. The photoluminescence (PL), Raman scattering, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) of the mixture of ZnO and europium nanostructures have been studied before and after intensive mechanical processing. Six samples of the ZnO mixture with 3% europium nanopowder were synthesized. Each sample was obtained at different milling times: 1, 3, 9, 30, 90, and 360 min. The structural study revealed the growth of ZnO nanocrystals (NCs) with an average size of 30 nm. As the milling time increased, the amount of europium on the ZnO nanostructures increased. The photoluminescence spectrum obtained from each sample is complex, with three bands with peaks centered in the range of 1.6 to 3.6 eV. The optical transition mechanisms and peculiarities of the photoluminescence spectrum are analyzed and discussed.
