Physicochemical characterization of a PCL/Qs/AgNPs/MwCNT electrohyled material

The use of nanotechnology is of utmost importance for obtaining new materials; that is why, in the present work, a green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) was carried out using a natural extract of Pithecellobium dulce as reducing agent and AgNO3 as precursor. Chitosan, AgNPs, polycaprolactone, and carbon nanotubes were mixed to obtain electrospun membranes. These materials were characterized physicochemically, by contact angle, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). EDS analysis showed the percentages of silver distributed in the materials, the best being 22.08%, and mechanical tests elongations no greater than 1.5%. In the thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) of resulted in chitosan temperatures from 255 °C to 266 °C and polycaprolactone ones from 415 °C to 418 °C.
