Data Governance: Ein Überblick
摘要
Against the backdrop of growing data volumes and the resulting increase in the complexity of system landscapes, it has become essential for large organizations to establish a binding framework for handling data—especially as data is increasingly perceived as a valuable resource. Embedded between the long-term, high-level Data Strategy and more operational Data Management, Data Governance (DG) provides crucial guidance for all employees working with data to perform their tasks. It does so by defining organizational standards such as roles, rules, and processes. In this context, Data Governance spans a wide range of IT-related areas within an organization, including data security and privacy, as well as data quality and documentation. Furthermore, Data Governance takes on a specialized form in modern decision-support frameworks, such as self service and data mesh concepts.
