<p>This article addresses the concept of “IT business partner management” and describes it through three important tasks within a&#xa0;company. Additionally, it discusses the required skills and competencies that IT business partners need to effectively fulfil their role. Using an IT solution that, in this example, encompasses the entire process from idea development to service provision, differentiation is made from related disciplines—demand management, IT project management, IT innovation management, and IT service management. It highlights the focus areas of these disciplines and identifies overlaps with IT business partner management. Finally, it explains how IT business partner management contributes to IT business alignment and outlines additional aspects necessary for achieving it. The contents of the article are based on scientific sources and the author’s extensive professional experience.</p>
