Geschäftsprozessharmonisierung in Mergers & Acquisitions: Eine betriebliche und kulturelle Perspektive
摘要
To sustain in today’s competitive market, businesses need long-term strategies for growth. Corporate restructuring and especially Mergers and Acquisitions are common strategies for expansion. Post Merger Integration is a crucial phase during merger transactions, integrating assets to create synergies. Business processes are key assets of a business but can be challenging to integrate after mergers. “Business Process Standardization” seems to be the best approach to conquer this situation to eliminate process inconsistency. However, real-life practices show that it is not always feasible to completely uniform and standardize the process variants stemming from different business worlds. This raises the question of how company mergers can strike trade-offs between their process variants. “Business Process Harmonization” seems promising to overcome this challenge. This study aims to address this challenge, developing a framework for Business Process Harmonization in mergers. According to organizational theory, three central pillars must be addressed in order to achieve specific corporate goals: structure, culture and processes. This theory forms the basis for our study and serves as a guideline for the development of our framework. Within the framework, these three aspects are specifically addressed to support the goals of process harmonisation in company mergers.
