Background <p>Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) requires specialized clinical pathways; there is limited data on how these services are implemented in the Indian context. This research explores the current professional landscape of CAPD diagnosis and management in India. By focusing on pediatric screening assessment and management protocols, the study aims to highlight prevailing clinical trends and the primary challenges faced by practitioners in the field of Audiology.</p> Method <p>This study used a validated Google Form survey to gather information from practicing audiologists across India regarding their screening, assessment and management of CAPD diagnostic criteria, battery of tests used and perceived barriers to service delivery. Out of more than 500 professional audiologists contacted, 126 audiologists (aged 22 to 55) responded.</p> Results <p>Results show that the hurdle to effective CAPD care has remained largely unchanged for over a decade. Despite an increase in qualified professionals, there is still a persistent gap in CAPD screening, assessment and management, and the same clinical challenges and issues remain across the country.</p> Conclusions <p>There is a critical need for uniform clinical guidelines and increased accessibility to specialized diagnostic tools for pediatric CAPD in India to improve early intervention outcomes and it must update its educational programs.</p>

Background

Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) requires specialized clinical pathways; there is limited data on how these services are implemented in the Indian context.
