Background <p>Hemangiomas are benign tumors originating in the vascular tissues of skin, mucosa, muscles, glands, and bones. They represent the most common benign vascular lesions of the head and neck; however, they are rarely encountered in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.</p> Case presentation <p>This case report is regarding a rare, clinical, and imaging presentation of a soft palate hemangioma that presented as a nasopharyngeal lesion, causing airway obstruction and nasal bleed in a 50-year-old female. Contrast-enhanced CT showed an avidly enhancing soft tissue lesion in the palate in paramidline location, confirmed as palatal hemangioma on histopathology and treated utilizing the interventional radiology procedure.</p> Conclusion <p>Contrast-enhanced CT imaging is a helpful aid to diagnosis; however, definitive diagnosis is based on histopathological examination. Interventional radiology plays an essential role not only in confirming the CT findings of a vascular lesion, but also helps in the management, thereby evading the necessity of invasive surgery.</p>

Background

Hemangiomas are benign tumors originating in the vascular tissues of skin, mucosa, muscles, glands, and bones. They represent the most common benign vascular lesions of the head and neck; however, they are rarely encountered in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses.

Case presentation
